The goal of our mentoring program is to offer an after school program that increases the probability of future success for at-risk students by providing them the support necessary to improve written and verbal communication skills and assist them in planning and preparing for a successful post secondary education and future career. Studies have shown that students with poor written and verbal communication skills are more likely to be disruptive in the classroom, truant from school, and at risk of dropping out of high school. By providing the appropriate guidance and support for our students, we will help them avoid these types of negative outcomes and instead empower them to become role models and achievers.
